How to read today's gold numbers
The headline figure is the latest spot reference for one troy ounce of gold priced in US dollars. The daily change compares it with the previous session's close, and the five-day change shows whether the current move is a pause inside a larger trend or the start of something new. The day's high and low tell you how wide the session has been so far; a range much wider than the 20-day average usually means news is driving the market.
Pivot zones are calculated from the previous session's high, low and close using the classic floor-trader formula. They are not forecasts. They are reference points where many short-term traders place orders, which is why price often reacts around them. When gold holds above the pivot, the first resistance zone is the next area of interest; below it, attention moves to the first support zone.
What moves gold during the week
Gold has no yield, so it is sensitive to real interest rates and the US dollar. US inflation data (CPI, PCE), the jobs report, Federal Reserve meetings and speeches by Fed officials usually create the largest intraday swings. Geopolitical stress and central-bank buying support demand over longer periods, while a strong dollar and rising Treasury yields tend to weigh on the metal.
The calendar on this page lists the high-impact events for the coming days, taken from the public ForexFactory weekly feed. Times are shown in UTC. If you trade around these releases, consider that spreads widen and price can jump through levels without trading at them.
Using this page in a routine
Many traders check three things before the London and New York sessions: where gold sits relative to the pivot, whether the day's range is already stretched, and what is on the calendar. This page puts those three items in one place. For a deeper view, the XAU/USD analysis page adds trend and momentum readings, and the position size calculator helps you keep risk per trade constant whatever the stop distance.
About the data
Prices come from public sources (Yahoo Finance, gold-api.com) and the calendar from the ForexFactory public feed. The page is rebuilt every three hours; figures can lag the live market, so always confirm prices on your own platform before acting.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the live gold price?
It is a reference price refreshed every few hours from public sources (Yahoo Finance and gold-api.com). For order execution always use the quote on your own trading platform.
How are the support and resistance zones calculated?
They are classic daily pivots: P = (high + low + close) / 3, with R1/S1, R2/S2 and R3/S3 derived from the previous session's range, then aligned to the current spot reference.
